Bird watching in Formosa

Geographic location: Province of Formosa, Northeast region of Argentina.

How to get there: by plane, to the city of Formosa airport (El Pucú). By land, you can get there by car or take one of various bus lines that arrive there from the major cities in our country. 

Area: 72.066 sq km

Altitude: 115 meters above sea level.

Climate: Tropical. Although visits are permitted all year round, the ideal period is May through September, to avoid extreme temperatures. 

Recommended length of stay: 7 to 10 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: light-colored clothes due to the high temperatures, rain boots, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. 

What to do: enjoy bird-watching and hiking in the natural reserves, meet native communities and buy wicker crafts. 

Tips: from December to March, check the condition of the roads, as some of them may not be accessible due to the heavy rainfall.
