Iguazú Falls

In this unique environment there is a natural treasure: the Iguazú Falls: 275 waterfalls that can reach up to 80 meters high. One of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World, declared a World Heritage Site. Stroll along its walkways and trails. Visit the Yvirá Retá Interpretation Center. On full moon days, you can also live a unique experience. When a new world wakes up in the forest, silence is broken just by the sounds of animals. Geographic location: The Iguazú National Park is in the North-West region of the Province of Misiones, 17 km from Puerto Iguazú. 

How to get here: from the city of Puerto Iguazú there are regular bus services all day. The city has an international airport.

Climate: Tropical.

Ideal time of the year: Fall (March through May).

Recommended length of stay: 1 to 2 days.

Recommended clothing: Comfortable footwear for long walks, a change of clothing in case of taking a boat ride. 

What to do: lower trail (1,400 meter-long walkway with stairs), upper trail (1,300 meter-long walkway without stairs), the Devil’s Throat trail (1,100 meter-long walkway without stairs). Crossing to San Martín Island, the Macuco trail, the Yacaratiá trail, a boat ride in mighty rapids that reach the base of the falls, to get a different view. In this ride, be prepared to get wet. 

Tips: take repellent and a bottle of water (refills are available at the park). Don’t feed the monkeys or coatis. Visitors who prefer to tour the park in two days can keep their tickets and by showing them the next day they can have a 50% discount.
