A single province; countless proposals to enjoy. Do you like surfing? Visit Mar del Plata, the national surf capital, and walk along the Sunrider, Puerto Cardiel and Playa Grande beaches, and the area near the Lighthouse. In Miramar, surf at the Waikiki and Neptuno paradores, the Rockaway beach and the fisherman’s wharf. And in Necochea, visit the pier, La Hélice and El Caño. Come where the best waves are. Rent surf gear and boards. Take surf and bodyboard lessons.

 

The coast also has theme parks to offer. Termas Marinas Park in San Clemente del Tuyú. The Maze [El Laberinto] in Las Toninas. Bosque Energético in Miramar. And in Lobería, you can make your adventurous tourist dreams come true. There where the mountains get close to the sea and merge with the Quequén River, go trekking and rock climbing, fishing and kayaking. The coast is waiting for you.

Climate: warm and humid 

Recommended length of stay: 8 to 10 days.

Recommended clothing: in winter (June through September), take warm clothes, a cap and scarf. In summer (December through March), a light jacket to wear at night will be enough; also bring comfortable (preferably light-colored) clothes, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. In fall (March through June) or spring (September through December), bring an umbrella or raincoat. Take comfortable footwear. 

What to do: hiking, photography, bird watching, catch and release fishing, visiting museums, kayaking, sport climbing, horseback riding. 

Tips: try the fish-of-the-day dishes, regional sausages and cheeses, and the local beer.
