Calilegua National Park

Geographic location: southeast of the province of Jujuy, in the Argentine northwest.
How to get there: Via Ruta Nacional 34 up to Libertador General San Martín, then via Ruta Provincial 83 (from San Salvador de Jujuy, 106 km; from Salta, 150 km). Both cities can be reached by air.
Area: 76,307 hectares.
Altitude: Between 400 and 3,000 meters above sea level.
Climate: Warm and humid. Although the park can be visited all year round, the ideal period goes from April to October.
Recommended length of stay: 2 to 4 days.
Recommended clothing: Pants and long-sleeved shirt, even in summer. Bring mosquito repellent.
What to do: Trekking, horseback riding, wildlife watching, mountain biking.
Tips: Notify the park ranger before heading out on the trails.
The park has a camping area with basic services.
