Geographic location: Province of Formosa, Northeast of Argentina.

How to get there: by plane, to Formosa City Airport (El Pucú). By land, you can go by car or by bus, as there are various bus lines that get there from the major cities in the country.

Area: 72,066 sq km

Altitude: 115 meters above sea level.

Climate: Tropical. Although visitors can come to the province all year round, the ideal time is from May to September, to avoid extreme temperatures.

Recommended length of stay: 7 to 10 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: light-colored clothes -due to the high temperatures-, rainboots, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.

What to do: catch-and-release fishing, photo safaris, hiking, water sports.

Tips: a sports license granted by the Wildlife Department of the province is required for fishing. Check the permits and the requirements in each fishing area.
