How to get there: By plane, to Francisco Gabrielli International Airport in the city of Mendoza (also known as El Plumerillo). Mendoza is directly connected by air with multiple domestic and international destinations. By car, Mendoza is crossed by two important routes: from north to south, Ruta Nacional 40; and from east to west, Ruta Nacional 7, where it is possible to arrive from Chile.
Altitude: 2,730 meters above sea level.
Climate: dry, warm and cold. Dry summers with wide temperature range and more humid winters with heavy snowfalls. The climate is influenced by the Andes Mountains, where it becomes Andean-Puno arid.
Recommended length of stay: 1 to 2 days.
Recommended clothing and gear: Take warm clothes in winter (July to September). In summer (December to March), take a light coat for the night. Also, take comfortable preferably light-colored clothes, insect repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat or cap. Wear suitable footwear for the activity to be carried out.
