Are you into birds? Discover this paradise. In the province of Santa Cruz, next to the city of Puerto San Julián, Makenke Sea Park is waiting for you. Here, thousands and thousands of birds live together, lured by the wealth of food offered by the sea. Watch the magic of the swans and the flamingos, the upland geese and the plovers, the red knots and the dolphin gulls, the black-crowned night herons and the Hudsonian godwits.

Look at the waters inhabited by pink cuskeel and sea bass, hake and southern dolphins, orcas and Commerson’s dolphins. Do you want to catch a glimpse of a colony with 130,000 Magellanic penguins? Discover it on Isla Cormorán. Do you want to meet colonies of Imperial shags and rock shags? Visit Isla Justicia. And on the continental coast, watch the main mating colony of red-legged cormorants in Argentine territory. Enjoy diversity in this sea park.

How to get there: The Park is 424 km away from Comodoro Rivadavia. Buses from all over the country and daily flights from Buenos Aires arrive in the city.

Climate: Warm and cold. Arid to semi-arid. Very windy.

Recommended length of stay: 1 to 3 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: A jacket to protect yourself from the wind.
