Geographic location: Southeast region of the province of Buenos Aires.
How to get there: by air, to Astor Piazzolla International Airport in the city of Mar del Plata and to Comandante Espora Airport in the city of Bahía Blanca.
Altitude: 54 meters above sea level (average altitude), 1,239 meters above sea level (highest altitude at Cerro Tres Picos).
Climate: warm and humid. Recommended length of stay: 7 to 9 days.
Recommended clothing: in winter (June through September), take warm clothes, a hat and scarf. In summer (December through March), a light jacket to wear at night will be enough. Also, take comfortable (preferably light-colored) clothes, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. In fall (March through June) or spring (September through December), also bring an umbrella or raincoat.
What to do: try local cheeses and sausages. Go trekking at the hills, sport climbing, paragliding, bird watching and mountain biking. Visit the typical ranches.
