Rafting in the Hua Hum River

Where does your adventure start? In Hua Hum, 45 kilometers from San Martín de los Andes. Here you will be equipped with a safety gear: a helmet, an oar and a life preserver. The tour guides will tell you all about going downstream and will be with you throughout the journey. After rafting for two and a half hours, you will have arrived in Chile by water. And you will come back to Hua Hum by land. Enjoy it all in the province of Neuquén. 

 

Geographic location: Province of Neuquén, Patagonia region.

How to get there: from San Martín de los Andes, 190 kilometers north of San Carlos de Bariloche, via Ruta Nacional 40.

Climate: high mountain climate, with heavy rainfall, cold temperatures and a narrow temperature range throughout the year. In summer, however, temperatures can be as high as 33ºC and in winter they can drop to as little as -15ºC.

Recommended length of stay: 1 to 2 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: it is required to be equipped with a life preserver, neoprene wetsuit, waterproof jacket, neoprene boots and a helmet, all of which is provided by the travel agencies that offer the tour.
