How to get there: the journey starts in Potrerillos (70 kilometers from the city of Mendoza). You can get there via Ruta Nacional 40 and then via Ruta Nacional 7.
Altitude: 1,377 meters above sea level.
Climate: dry, mild and cold. Summers are dry, with a wide temperature range and winters are more humid, with snowfall.
Recommended length of stay: 1 to 2 days.
Recommended clothing and gear: it is required to be equipped with a life preserver, neoprene wetsuit, waterproof jacket, neoprene boots and a helmet. All of this is provided by the travel agencies that offer the tour.
Tips: April through September is a quiet time of the year because the water level is lower, which makes the activity easier.
