Villa Pehuenia

How to get there: by plane to Juan Domingo Perón International Airport, in the city of Neuquén (313 km from Copahue). By bus, from different parts of the country, or by car via Ruta Nacional 5.

Climate: cold and humid, with snowfalls in winter.

Recommended length of stay: 2 to 3 days.

Recommended clothing and gear: warm and suitable clothing for low temperatures.

On the way, discover the cave of the Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos and see specimens of the araucaria araucana, a tree which has been venerated by the Mapuche communities since ancient times. Visit Nuestra Señora del Pehuén chapel in the center of Villa Pehuenia and walk around a place where the cultural identity of the region is preserved: the Paseo de los Artesanos.
