Argentine trap circuit: music and local tourism
The second part of the convergence of the best local music and tourism: this time a trap version and its eminences.
Trap. It is defined as a musical subgenre of rap that took place in the nineties and originated in the south of the United States. But in Argentina it found a particularly special version in recent years. Today, the blue and white trap scene triumphs not only in national territory, but also crossing borders. The energy, references and musical quality continue to increase, and each artist awakens their own trajectory and history.

Antezana 247: the house where trap was founded
Much more than just a house. The Trap Mansion, nicknamed as such by fans, bears witness to history. It is the epicenter where the very essence of Argentine trap beats, a place where rhymes and rhythms took shape, giving life to one of the most influential musical genres of the last decade.
2018 marked a transcendental milestone for trap in Argentina. The final goodbye to El Quinto Escalón, the mythical freestyle competition that took place in Parque Rivadavia, served as the spark that ignited the trap revolution. Among the artists who emerged at the time there was Modo Diablo, a trio made up of Duki, Neo Pistea and Ysy A. Antezana 247 was not only the home of these three talented musicians, but also the melting pot where their friendship was strengthened and their music was born. In that mansion in Caballito, the group recorded and conceived many of the songs that marked a turning point in the life of local trap. "Rockstar", Duki's iconic song, not only refers to the house, but its music video was filmed entirely in the hallways and rooms of the place, which today functions as the ideal spot to pay homage to the roots.
The fanaticism reached the point where fans want the house to be declared Cultural Heritage.
Trueno and La Boca: between colors and tenements
In the vibrant heart of Buenos Aires, the picturesque neighborhood of La Boca stands as a cultural beacon where art, passion for soccer and urban music converge in a unique symphony. This iconic corner is not only known for its legendary football stadium, La Bombonera, but also for being the home of the famous rapper Trueno. From the colorful streets of Caminito to the vibrant tenements that dance to the rhythm of tango, La Boca is more than a neighborhood: it is a canvas where part of the history of trap also takes place. Mateo Palacios Corazzina –Trueno's real name– grew up among those characteristic houses, cultivated his passion for music and took it upon himself to give it to the whole world. So much so that the famous Tiny Desk cycle landed in the country of the End of the World to, for 15 minutes, lock the trapper's own nature in his native neighborhood. In a gesture of patriotic pride, Trueno filled the stage with national symbols: from shirts of the eponymous club to references to heroes such as Gauchito Gil and Diego Maradona.
Rosario and the Nicki Nicole phenomenon
Born in the charming city of Rosario on August 25, 2000, this singer, rapper and songwriter took the name of her hometown to new heights, conquering global stages and leaving an indelible mark on the heart of her beloved Rosario. 2019 marked the meteoric rise of Nicki Nicole with her single "Wapo Traketero", a hit that was filmed on the outskirts of the city, specifically in the traditional neighborhood of Fisherton in the west zone. That was the beginning of everything: from the streets of Rosario, she even reached the stage of The Tonight Show, with Jimmy Fallon.
But in spite of the global stages, Nicki always returns to her roots in the Echesortu neighborhood of Rosario. She grew up among her familiar streets, and her house, a few blocks from the Francisco de Gurruchaga high school, was the temple where the young artist composed her first songs.
Apart from the music, Rosario invites visitors to discover its tourist charm, from the imposing Monument to the Flag on the banks of the Paraná River to the inspiring corners rich in history and culture. The city is not only the place where the star was born, but also a destination that captivates with its beauty and authenticity.
Northern Argentina with Cazzu
Originally from the vibrant lands of Jujuy, more precisely from Fraile Pintado (ninety-six kilometers away from the capital, San Salvador de Jujuy), Julieta Cazzuchelli was born to leave her mark. She began her musical journey rooted in cumbia and folkloric rhythms and, with much effort and dedication, she managed to make her way on the scene, becoming the proclaimed chief –"LA JEFA"–of trap. But her story is not only an artistic evolution: it is a journey from the roots of Fraile Pintado to international stages. From the release of her first CD in 2017, everything was on the rise: covers in the Rolling Stone magazine, musical collaborations with legends, curtains for the series The Kingdom, awards and fame.
But Cazzu's connection with Jujuy goes beyond successes and global charts. The province where she was born is home to treasures that seem to be from another planet and there is plenty of inspiration to have as reference. From the imposing landscapes of the Quebrada de Humahuaca to the vibrant lands of Purmamarca, the natural beauty of Jujuy becomes the true inspiring muse. Discovering Hornocal is also amazing for a dose of colorimetry out of this world.
Wos and Rivadavia Park: the cockfight and the beginnings
The youngest competitor of El Quinto Escalón, a rap battle competition founded and organized in Rivadavia Park in the Caballito neighborhood, in the City of Buenos Aires. When was the first time he appeared? At the age of 15, in 2013. By 2016 he was already a habitué and began to earn a reputation in the competition, managing to be crowned champion. The rest was history: he even managed to enter the Red Bull Batalla for the first time, where he was champion against all odds. This is the phenomenon of Wos, a boy born in the neighborhood of Villa Crespo, who has breathed music since he was young. The square was his great ally to begin to make himself known, especially Rivadavia Park, where the above-mentioned benchmark show took place for all artists of the trap genre on the planet. In addition to his beginnings, popularity and fanaticism around Wos did not take long to arrive, triggering sales of tickets to concerts, sold outs and stagings in some of the most important venues in the country: the Estadio Único de La Plata, the Estadio Obras, Estadio Argentinos Juniors, among others.
